Marcel’s Country BBQ Restaurant Country Music Night

Review and Photos by Crystal Lemanski

If you’re like me and you like country music, good food, good people and an all-around good time, Marcel’s Country BBQ Restaurant/Dance Hall was the place to be last night!

Marcel’s Country BBQ restaurant in Wassenberg, Germany specializes in American cuisine. Last night they hosted their first Country Music Night with guest performers T-Bone and Moni singing traditional American Country Music.

A great BBQ buffet was offered, featuring spare ribs, chicken wings, French fries, and salad. It was all-you-can-eat and stayed open until around 10 pm so if you worked up an appetite dancing away you could grab another bite to eat! The bar was open as well featuring popular American beers such as Budweiser and Coors Light. They also had local German beers available. The chicken wings were spot on; I could have eaten a dozen of them.  Other Americans at the event said the same thing! The ribs were slightly dry (which may have been due to the mass amount they were cooking) but VERY well-flavored.

The atmosphere was quite cozy, small but roomy, and included a bar and dance floor.  All the staff was super friendly. Some spoke English; some didn’t. The owner, Marcel, was there enjoying the festivities right alongside the guests. He speaks English very well.

It was very family friendly. We had my 20 month old daughter with us and she enjoyed the music and dancing right along with the adults. She wasn’t the youngest one; another family had brought their 7 month old.

T-Bone and Moni performed wonderfully. Listening to them sing you would never know you were at a country bar in Germany! There were a couple of women teaching some line dancing and everyone had a blast with it.
