Check your credit card statements.
A processing error within the AAFES system is causing duplicate charges for many debit and credit card transactions made between 7 and 9 August.
“Shoppers who swiped their cards anytime between Aug. 7 and Aug. 9 at an AAFES facility are strongly encouraged to review their statements to see if they are impacted by this issue,” said AAFES’ Chief of Staff Col. Virgil Williams. “If a customer finds a billing anomaly, no action will be required on their part as we’re working to correct inaccuracies on their behalf.”
AFFES assures the customer that they are working around the clock to find and reverse any wrongful charges made as a result of the processing error including addressing any overdraft fees that may have been incurred as a result of the double charge.
It may take from 24 hours to 2 weeks for the duplicate charge to show on your statement. This issue does affect AAFES in all locations worldwide depending on the type of card used.
