Esso Stations for Gas Card use

For all Esso stations, here’s a website that will also allow you to find stations along a trip route. You can also get a copy of the map book, Tiger on Tour which shows the location of all 1200 Esso stations in Germany as well as provides a good road map.

Places locally that take gas cards:

GERMANY

Heinsburg: The Esso on the 221 next to Janses Mattes just north of the A46 on ramp, is VERY friendly and takes the gas card.

Tuddern: Esso on the main street – Sittarder Strasse

Ubach-Palenburg: The Esso station near McDonalds.

Wehr: The Esso on the right side of B56 heading towards Sittard
Hours: tues – sat 06450-01800, sunday and holidays 0800-1800

THE NETHERLANDS

Amstenrade:  “ESSO Fermans” at Hommerterweg 292, 6436 AM

All ESSO stations in Germany MUST take the AAFES ESSO card. It is a contract agreement. If the station refuses you can report them to AAFES. The only reason a station would tell you no is because they were too lazy to handle the coupons.

Gas prices are updated every Saturday. Usually Stars and Stripes will announce the new prices on Thursday or Friday. The Netherlands is always higher than Germany on gas prices. This has nothing to do with AAFES, they are told what prices to sell it at.

I always ask Esso before pumping. I have had one say no when we were in Germany on our way to Switzerland. I was glad I asked before hand.

I’ve never had a problem with any Esso gas stations taking the gas coupons, but we usually ask before we pump the gas if we are at an Esso station we haven’t been to before. We’ve used them on trips to Berlin, Hamburg and Hannover. We also used them on our trip to Amsterdam.

The ARAL station on the autobahn (only on the autobahn in Germany, I think) also take the gas coupons.

esso in Wehr between Suesterseel and Sittard takes them. In the netherlands only a few take them. There is a link on the aafes websites which shows who takes them.

The Esso station in Tuddern takes them as well. Right there on Sittarder Strasse. :-)
