Hair

Reader recommendations…

The eternal question asked by ladies when they first arrive here… or three months later when the haircut they got just before moving finally gets intolerable: Who cuts your hair? OR Do you know of a good place to get a haircut/color/style?

Since I have rather boring hair, I am not the one to ask, but asking around a bit, this is what I’ve come up with. If you have any suggestions, please leave your comments or email your salon to me and I’ll add it to the list.

Hair at Home (yours or your hairdresser):
Need a haircut and want to make sure that the person behind the scissors understands exactly what you’re trying to communicate? A good ol’ fashioned American hairdresser usually does the trick.

  • Sara Horrocks: Takes appointments out of her home in Gangelt-Kreuzrath. Cuts and color. Call: Home- 02454/937541 Cell- 0163/5677308 for information and appointments.

The ladies at Brunssum (just down the hall from the library) do an excellent job with cuts and color – highly recommended by several ladies I know.

FYI – most phone numbers have a 0 in front of the number. If you are dialing the number from within the country and from a different city, then you do dial the 0 with the number. If you are calling from outside the country, then you do not need the zero. It is like this almost Europe wide. But yes, there are exceptions.

Heads up- The phone number for the brunssum hair salon has a 0 before the 4 and that is incorrect. Tried 2x’s before figuring it out!
