Burg Satzvey – Germany

Burg Satzvey is located about 45 minutes south east of Geilenkirchen. We found out about it through an Al Stewart website as many concerts are hosted there. It is also known for it’s various festivals, Renaissance fairs with jousting and traditional costumes, and the Christmas market. A beautiful old castle still lived in and run by the family whose had it for the last 300 years, it is worth the drive for an outing to attend an event there.

The website is great although the German side of the sight is sometimes more reliable. At times I find a wealth of Events on the English site and other times they are mysteriously missing. The “impressionen” link will show you some great photos of the place and different events.

Though Halloween is fairly new in Germany, the Burg Satzvey does have Halloween events! Check out the calendar below for more info or contact them through the website.

We had a wonderful time at the Christmas market here last year. It’s a medieval themed market and they have people playing out the Nativity as well. We’re planning on going again this year!
